A Linux VR hub for Pimax headsets, with headset wake and keepalive, Tobii eye tracking, quad views and SteamVR integration. The author credits AI for the reverse-engineering analysis, code, tests and documentation.
PiBridge is an alpha Linux VR hub for Pimax headsets. It combines a desktop application with small user services that wake the headset and run eye tracking while SteamVR is active. The interface displays headset, controller, base-station, tracking, and eye-tracking state, and manages related settings. It does not communicate directly with the headset hardware itself.
The project supports features including headset keepalive, Tobii eye tracking, and controls for quad-view settings. Quad-view rendering is provided by a separate OpenXR layer; PiBridge exposes and adjusts its settings rather than implementing that layer. The README says it has been tested on one Linux PC with a Pimax Crystal Super and cautions that the project is alpha software.
The author credits Claude Code for the code, tests, reverse-engineering analysis, and documentation, with a human testing the work on real hardware. PiBridge is described as a temporary community solution while official Linux support is unavailable, not an official Pimax product. Its source is MIT licensed, and the repository gives setup and service instructions.
