What was done

Claude profiled the game, reverse engineered the engine and wrote about forty fixes in one small DLL. On the author's PC an Imperial City flight went from 72 to 102 fps.

Oblivion Remastered Performance Fix is a small DLL that makes the UE5 game run faster in towns and crowds, hitch less while travelling and open menus quicker, without changing what is drawn. The README says Claude did the profiling, the reverse engineering, the fixes, the benchmark and the docs, while LTSharpe set the rules and played every build.

How it was done

For each of about forty fixes the DLL finds a specific place in the engine and changes how the work is done, never what is drawn. The repo includes a benchmark that anyone can re-run, and screenshots with the fix on and off were compared automatically across times of day and weather. It is for the single player game.

Results

On the author's Ryzen 7 5800X and Radeon RX 9070 XT, a flight round the Imperial City at 4K with frame generation went from 72 to 102 fps, with hitches falling from 19.5 to 4.8. Cheydinhal streets went from 64 to 91 fps. Stepping out of a door improved from a worst frame of 187 ms to 95 ms. It is a beta tested on one PC, and the author asks for reports on NVIDIA, Intel and Game Pass.
