What was done
drakolordx7 used Claude Code and PS2Recomp to make a native PC build of the PS2 shooter Killzone, with mouse aim as an engine patch and frame rates above 100 fps.
drakolordx7 made a native Windows port of Killzone (PS2, 2004) by statically recompiling the game's code to C++ with PS2Recomp. The README says it was developed with AI assistance from Claude Code, and keeps findings and measurements for each change in a findings file and a patch list.
How it was done
The game's code is recompiled into roughly 20,000 C++ files. PCSX2's hardware renderer, vector unit recompiler, image decoder and audio code are linked in as libraries. On top sit engine patches written for this game, including mouse aim that feeds raw counts into the game's own look rate, a frame timer that is rescaled for high refresh rates, and a launcher. Testing runs the game without a window using scripted input and periodic screenshots.
Results
Per the README, boot, menus, profile creation and the first mission are verified in automated runs. It reports about 117 to 120 fps at 120 Hz and 130 to 140 fps at 144 Hz in gameplay, internal resolution up to 8x, and D3D11, D3D12 or Vulkan. It is a test build and longer play-throughs are still being checked. Killzone Online is not included. The repository holds no game code or data, and it is GPL-3.0.
