What was done
A static recompilation of the USA PlayStation release of Dragon Valor runs natively on PC and reads graphics, audio, video and levels from the user’s own discs.
Dragon Valor Recompiled statically recompiles the USA PlayStation release of Namco’s two-disc action RPG to run natively on PC. It is built on the open psxrecomp and recomp-ui toolkits. The project supports the USA discs SLUS-01092 and SLUS-01164; the launcher selects which disc to use. The project provides no game assets and requires the player’s own discs.
Project state
The README documents a native 60 Hz build, a launcher, controller and display settings, memory cards and optional mods. It links to status, development and playtesting notes, and describes the project as an unofficial, noncommercial fan project. Builds and playtesting remain in progress.
AI contribution
Public commits list Claude Opus 5.5 as a co-author on project code and tooling, including a game-specific stage warp/menu feature and the release/CI work. The available evidence supports AI participation in the recompilation project; it does not establish that Claude performed the original executable analysis. The page therefore separates the project’s static recompilation work from the narrower contribution shown in commit history.
