What was done
liolu Ultimate Spider-Man decomp has 31.43 percent of its code byte-matched through the DS Decomp Studio pipeline, with the ROM rebuilding exactly and no game assets committed.
liolu decompilation of Ultimate Spider-Man rebuilds its Nintendo DS version, game code AUSF and the French release, against the original ARM code through the DS Decomp Studio agent pipeline liolu runs for a set of DS games. An AGENTS.md file sets the rules the agents follow, and nothing game related is committed: matching is measured, not estimated.
How it was done
The build uses Metrowerks mwccarm, with the exact compiler version still being probed by the probe tool the project ships. 2,393 of 4,593 functions are matched as raw m2c output that still needs cleanup, and each one only counts when it compiles to the exact same bytes as the original and the whole ROM still rebuilds. The bytematch.dev badge on the repository recomputes the numbers on its own, so progress stays honest rather than hand reported.
Results
As of 18 October 2026 the code match stands at 31.43 percent, the furthest of the authors parallel DS decompilations of Heroes of Mana, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, The Simpsons Game, Spyro: Shadow Legacy and Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. It is an early number on a long project, but the shared NitroSDK and library work underneath carries across these projects, so new game contributions start from there. Data tables are still at zero, so strings and graphics are untouched so far, and contributors can pick functions from any of the games in the pipeline.
