What was done
A weekend project: Claude helped map the vendor control channel and state layout, giving a menu bar app and CLI for ANC and EQ.
DMJ Jones wanted to control Soundcore Space 2 headphones from a Mac, where the vendor app is missing. Working with Claude over a weekend, he decoded the control protocol and wrote SoundcoreBridge, a native menu bar app and command line tool in Swift.
How it was done
The pair dumped the headset's Bluetooth service records to find the vendor control channel, built a frame codec and checked it against packets documented for other models. An open source Sony project helped fix a wrong conclusion that macOS blocked the connection. Captures from the Android app's Bluetooth log revealed a required connect-time handshake, and changing one setting at a time and diffing bytes mapped the state fields.
Results
The app reads battery, firmware and serial, and controls noise cancelling mode and strength, EQ presets and custom bands. Unknown models get a read-only profile because only the Space 2 offsets are confirmed. The write-up also notes the official app shows a cached sound mode rather than the real one. The code is MIT licensed.
