What was done
aikatore used Claude models and Codex to turn the recvx-decomp decompilation into a native Linux and Windows port that reads the user's own disc image, with extras such as third-person camera and online co-op.
recvx-enhanced-port is a native PC port of Resident Evil Code: Veronica X for Linux and Windows. The README says most of the code, tools and documentation were written by Anthropic's Claude models, plus OpenAI Codex for parts of the map tooling, directed and reviewed by hand by the maintainer.
How it was done
The port is built from the community decompilation recvx-decomp, which is a separate human-led project. The original game code and a PS2 platform layer are compiled for the PC, and native paths replace the expensive hardware parts. The changes to the decompilation live in a fork and are disclosed as AI-assisted, as that project asks. The game reads the user's own disc image in place and no game data is included.
Results
The README and a linked demo video show a PC build with a third-person camera and online co-op added on top of the original game. The README targets the NTSC-U release, SLUS-20184.
