Pokémon Colosseum Recompiled

What was done

An AI-assisted Rust reimplementation project that documents reverse-engineering findings and uses the owner’s game data locally; it does not distribute game files.

Pokémon Colosseum: Recompiled is an explicitly experimental Rust project exploring how to run the GameCube game through a native implementation. The author says Claude produced most of the reverse-engineering notes, Rust code, and README while working from the author's own game copy and Ghidra database. The README cautions that the work is rough, may contain incorrect conclusions, and has not been carefully reviewed.

The project focuses on the North American revision GC6E01. It draws function names, addresses, and engine behavior from a matching Colosseum decompilation, with additional symbol work documented in the companion repository. The tools read the user's own legally dumped disc at runtime; game data is not included or accepted. The audio runtime is referenced as a Git submodule rather than bundled as project code.

This should be understood as a hobby proof of concept rather than a finished recompilation or reliable game release. Its value so far is in making the reverse-engineering notes and implementation experiments public. The repository is MIT licensed, with separate licenses applying to included fonts and third-party components.
