What was done

Project Vekta is a work-in-progress static recompilation of Killzone HD. It translates PS3 PowerPC and SPU code into native C++ using ps3recomp, allowing the game to run on PC without emulation. The project is developed by one person using Claude Code.

Project Vekta is an unofficial static recompilation of the PS3 remaster Killzone HD. The project translates the game's PowerPC and Cell SPU code into C++ using the ps3recomp tool, which is then compiled into a native Linux or Windows x64 executable. This approach avoids CPU emulation at runtime, instead reimplementing PS3 system libraries and hardware behavior on PC APIs, with graphics commands replayed via Vulkan. The maintainer reports that the project is developed with the assistance of AI coding agents, specifically Claude Code, which performed tasks including reading binary data, writing patches, and managing build documentation. The port is currently in a playable testing state. While the intro movies, menus, and the first level of the campaign are functional, levels 2 through 11 have not been fully verified. The port supports PC-specific features such as variable frame rates, widescreen resolutions, and keyboard and mouse input. The project does not include game assets or firmware; users must provide their own files from a Killzone Trilogy disc. Further information is available at
