What was done

kaustubhxd documents the file formats of Freedom Fighters and ports its functions to C++ checked against the original, with help from Claude, while porting the game to the browser.

ReFreedomFighters holds reverse-engineering notes and file-format decoders for Freedom Fighters (IO Interactive, 2003), written while porting the game to the browser. The README has an AI assistance section: parts of the documentation, decoders and tools were written with help from Claude, and commits carry Claude co-author trailers.

How it was done

The repository lists decoders and specs for sound banks, localised text, the ZGF container with fonts and compiled mission scripts, and the AI navigation octree. Many formats should apply to other Glacier 1 games, including Hitman 2, Hitman: Contracts and Blood Money. A folder of C++ functions is derived from the executable and checked against the original. No game data is included and users need their own PC copy.

Results

The README describes a work-in-progress decompilation with verified C++ ports of 12,202 of 12,955 functions in the PC executable, and a public progress page. Verified percentages and the share ported into the browser game are tracked there.
