What was done

vh-ssantos port recompiles the 2004 EA and AKI wrestling game with XboxXBE-Recomp for Direct3D 12. It stays free, warns about fake paid copies and never ships the game.

vh-ssantos built DefJamFFNY, an unofficial native Windows port of Def Jam: Fight for NY (Xbox, 2004), made with Claude through Claude Code. It uses TGP482 XboxXBE-Recomp tool and runtime, the same tool the BLACK port uses, and it is free: the README warns against anyone selling it, lists official download spots and prints the release SHA-256 for checking. No part of the game ships; players put their own USA ISO in the assets folder or pick it when the program opens.

How it was done

The Xbox executable code is recompiled ahead of time and linked against the tool runtime, with every change this project makes marked in the source. The technical history of what was discovered and fixed lives in AGENTS.md. The renderer adds Direct3D 12 output, widescreen 16:9 with a corrected camera so fighters do not stretch, supersampling up to 300 percent, 16x anisotropic filtering, screen-space ambient occlusion through GTAO and a locked 60 frames per second.

Results

The v0.1.1 release is playable with the game menus and a PC options screen in English or Portuguese chosen by Windows language, the game own cheats such as reward points and extra music unlocked with a click, Discord presence, saves as normal files in a folder, skippable intro videos, automatic updates from GitHub and support for Xbox, PlayStation and Switch controllers with rumble and up to four players in battle. The first build recompiles the whole game in 30 to 90 minutes, and the generated code stays on the player machine.
