Balloon Fight Recompiled

What was done

An experimental static recompilation of the USA NES version of Balloon Fight, with a reproducible native build and recorded checks for normal play and Balloon Trip.

Balloon Fight Recompiled integrates the NESRecomp static recompilation framework with the USA version of Nintendo’s Balloon Fight. The project’s README says its initial integration, scripts and tests were primarily generated with Codex. It uses the annotated Balloon Fight disassembly as a research reference and states that it does not copy assembly source from that repository.

Scope and validation

The first milestone is a reproducible native build and validation of normal play and Balloon Trip. The README is careful to separate a successful build or title screen from evidence that the whole game works. It says validation routes, comparisons and remaining defects are recorded in docs/validation.md; interpreter fallback must also be measured and disclosed.

This is a static recompilation experiment, not a matching C decompilation and not yet a finished Quiver release. The user supplies a local ROM; the preparation tool verifies the USA image, normalizes only its 16-byte container header and keeps the input unchanged. The repository says game data is not included. The NESRecomp dependency is under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0, while the project integration has its own license.
