About NESRecomp
NESRecomp translates the 6502 code of NES and Famicom games into C ahead of time and supplies the PPU, APU, mapper, input and save systems around it. Each game port integrates and validates its own cartridge or disk revision, and the player supplies the game. It is in beta. Ports built on it add features such as save states, rewind, widescreen views and online co-op for some titles. The repository includes `AGENTS.md` and `CLAUDE.md` guides, and many commits are co-authored by Claude. The author runs R.A.I.D., a Discord for AI-assisted retro reverse engineering, decompilation and recompilation.
