What was done
VibinToast ported Jet Force Gemini to Windows and Linux with N64Recomp, adding mouse and keyboard, 60 fps, widescreen and HD texture packs. The README says the port is fully playable and was built with heavy help from Claude.
Jet Force Gemini: Recompiled is a native PC port of Jet Force Gemini (N64, US) for Windows and Linux, made by static recompilation from your own ROM. The README's AI disclosure says it was built with heavy help from Claude under the owner's direction and has not had an independent code review.
How it was done
The game's code is translated with N64Recomp, configured with the project's own symbol and TOML files. N64ModernRuntime replaces the N64 operating system and RT64 does the rendering. The project is built on cyscott's dkr-recomp, which the build scripts download and patch, and the game-specific code lives in its own folder. The first build takes 10 to 40 minutes.
Results
The README calls the port 100% playable. It adds mouse and keyboard controls, dual-stick aiming with an over-the-shoulder reticle, 60 fps, widescreen, ambient occlusion and bloom, and an option to turn off level of detail. HD texture packs can be switched in game, and a toolbar has a level warp, an item editor and single-player cheats such as skipping the Tribal check. No game code or assets are included.
