Thunderclap is a decompilation of The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for the original Xbox, built with LLM help. The aim is a native port that builds for SteamOS, arm64 macOS and Windows. Commits carry Claude co-author trailers, and the docs describe Claude subagent batches.
How it was done
Functions are byte-matched against the original compiler (MSVC 7.1) where that is cheap. A large function passes if an equivalence tool finds no behavioural difference across fuzzed and directed inputs. A farm of cheaper models and scripts handles the bulk, and stuck functions get a deeper investigation whose fix goes into the agent brief as a recipe. The repository holds no game code or assets.
Results
The README status table reports 27,424 functions with verified source (99.8%): 21,817 byte-matched (79.4%) and 5,607 proven equivalent (20.4%). About 1,100 small functions remain. A hybrid build that patches 14,614 of the project's functions into the original XBE boots in xemu through the menus and the new-game load, with state checkpoints identical to the original's.
