GT4 Native is an experimental attempt by Gustavo Canepa to build a native PC version of Gran Turismo 4 from the source reconstructed in his GT4 decompilation, instead of using emulation. It is not a playable port. The README calls it an early bootstrap with no playable build.
How it was done
Matching PS2 code does not run on a modern PC by itself. The repository builds the groundwork: checked models of PS2 memory and pointers, virtual call handling, an ELF parser, and a pipeline that imports a pinned revision of the decompilation and tests which files compile and link on a host compiler. Fifteen original GT4 functions are selected, and thirteen run over checked PS2-format memory. Commits list Claude as co-author, and some pull requests come from Codex branches.
Results
The repository has CI on Linux, Windows and macOS and a demo that runs on a synthetic object without game assets. The README says imported or link-tested files are not integrated, ABI-compatible or verified.
