What was done

GioPixelGH used Claude Code to port a Mac build of the Crash Twinsanity decompilation to Windows, with a steady 60 fps and crash fixes found by playing and by a 131-area scripted sweep.

GioPixelGH made Crash Twinsanity for Windows, a native 64-bit port of the PS2 game that needs no emulator. It builds on HAB3X's Mac port, which runs Smartkin's complete C++ decompilation of the game. The README says the port was written with the help of Claude Code.

How it was done

The Mac port supplies a platform layer with SDL3, an OpenGL renderer for the PS2 graphics, sound, movies and saves. GioPixelGH and Claude Code added what Windows needs, made the game run at a steady 60 fps and fixed crashes found by playing it. To catch crashes beyond hand play, the project tried all 131 of the game's areas for 30 seconds each with scripted input and recorded the results in the repository.

Results

Per the README, the port was tested on Windows 11, played by hand from the start through the first boss, the caverns and into the Doc Amok levels, and the scripted sweep found no unexpected crash. 108 areas were played, and the other 23 cannot start on their own because they are parts of hubs or tunnels. A full playthrough to the credits is not done yet, so the releases are previews. A Linux build and AppImage also work. No game data is included, so you need your own PAL disc image.
