What was done
Unowa001 1.0 release installs the game from your own ISO into a launcher with 60 fps, ultrawide, mouse aim, direct co-op and an Archipelago randomizer. Commits carry Co-Authored-By: Claude trailers.
Crackdown Recomp statically recompiles the 2007 Xbox 360 open-world game onto Windows with the ReXGlue SDK, which reads default.xex from your own disc dump and generates C++ on your machine. Twenty-one commits carry Co-Authored-By: Claude trailers, so AI agents helped write the project. The launcher installs the game from your ISO or extracted files, verifies them and updates itself, and neither the repository nor the releases carry any game data.
How it was done
The ReXGlue static recompiler behind several Xbox 360 ports this year translates the PowerPC code, and the runtime supplies the console parts: graphics, input, storage and the Direct3D the game wrote against. The repo carries a build playbook, reverse engineering notes and a 60 fps audit document, and the generated C++ stays local to each install. Two player campaign co-op runs through direct link play between two PCs, set up from the launcher, so it depends on no live service.
Results
The 1.0.0 release runs at 60 frames per second with the original physics and audio timing preserved, up to 4K internal resolution, ultrawide aspect ratios out to 32:9 that show more city, full mouse and keyboard with rebindable keys and camera speed control, an Archipelago randomizer scattering orbs and item deposits across a room, ten languages, portable save profiles and fps counters. Co-op currently runs at 30 frames per second and Crackdown 2 support is planned for the same launcher. The project code is BSD-3-Clause.
