What was done

A Home Assistant integration for Telenot alarm panels (complex400/compact easy) that mimics the BuildSec app protocol. It enables remote keypad control, status monitoring, and area management without cloud dependencies.

The ha-telenot project provides a local, cloud-free integration for Telenot intrusion alarm panels (complex400 / compact easy) by implementing the proprietary protocol used by the official BuildSec app. The protocol was reverse-engineered from the BuildSec Android application and subsequently refined using decrypted traffic captures from the BuildSec iOS app. The integration communicates directly with the panel's IP interface (e.g., comXline) via TCP. Features include a remote keypad interface, alarm control, indicator area management, and switching functions. The author notes that while encryption, handshakes, and status streams were confirmed against real panel captures, arming and disarming functionality has not been observed on real hardware. Users are advised to verify all arming and disarming operations at a physical keypad or within the official BuildSec app and to avoid building security-critical automations. The project includes a custom Lovelace keypad card and supports event logging. Development is documented via GitHub commits, with Claude Opus 5.5 credited as a co-author for various implementation tasks. Source
