This Home Assistant integration provides local BLE monitoring and control for Growatt VITA and Infinity power stations by reverse-engineering the v7 AES BLE protocol. It supports sensor data reading and switch toggling without cloud dependencies.
The ha_growatt_vita project provides a custom Home Assistant integration for Growatt VITA and Infinity series portable power stations. The integration communicates via the v7 AES BLE protocol over the FF01 and FF02 GATT services. The author reports that the protocol was reverse-engineered and validated against a Growatt VITA 500 PRO, which utilizes the INFINITY 2000 PRO register profile. Development was assisted by the OpenCode model running DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Free, with the maintainer reviewing and validating all code, protocol analysis, and documentation against physical hardware. The integration enables local polling for battery state of charge, power metrics, and fault flags, alongside switch controls for AC, DC, and USB outputs. The firmware treats FC6 writes to control registers as toggles, requiring the integration to read the state register before writing. The emergency LED remains status-only, as the firmware rejects BLE write attempts to its registers with a Modbus 0x86 0x01 exception. The device supports only one BLE connection at a time, preventing simultaneous use by the official mobile application and Home Assistant.
Reproduce it
Install via HACS by adding the repository URL as a custom integration, or manually copy the custom_components/growatt_vita folder to the HA config directory. The device is auto-discovered via Bluetooth manufacturer ID 14919.
