What was done

A C reconstruction of the original Xbox boot animation with a standalone renderer and WebGPU viewer, based on analysis of a BIOS dump.

This project reconstructs the original Xbox startup animation from a BIOS image, including the glowing object, the surrounding chamber, and the logo reveal. The repository describes a pipeline from analysis of the BIOS data to a specification and a C implementation, then exposes the result through a standalone renderer and a WebGPU workbench.

The browser workbench provides a free camera and wireframe views of the reconstructed meshes. The repository also includes viewers and diagnostic views for individual geometry, the blob, and the animation's sound channels. Its screenshots show both the reconstructed animation and the tools used to inspect it, making the work easier to examine than a rendered video alone.

The README credits Claude Opus working inside Claude Code for most of the analysis, specification, and rebuild, with a human directing the work and reviewing results. The project is a reconstruction and visualization of the boot sequence, not an Xbox emulator or a replacement console firmware. Source code and project-authored screenshots are available in the repository.
