What was done
The detiq-browser project reverse engineered Strawberry Browser (v0.1.77) to build an AI-integrated browser with companion agents, vector memory, and automation capabilities using Electron, React, and the Vercel AI SDK.
The detiq-browser project is an AI-first browser platform developed by extending the codebase of Strawberry Browser (v0.1.77). The implementation includes nine AI companion profiles, a companion workspace, and a multi-model engine utilizing the Vercel AI SDK. The browser architecture incorporates a SQLite-based persistence layer and supports autonomous automation via a routine scheduler. A command palette triggered by ⌘K allows for navigation and search, while a screenshot tool captures active webview content as base64 data for visual analysis by the AI engine. Recent updates addressed security by blocking javascript and file URL schemes and implementing validation for IPC arguments. The project maintains a vector memory system using sqlite-vec and OpenAI embeddings for semantic search. Documentation notes that while a screenshot IPC exists, it was not initially fed to the AI engine, and the ad blocker component remains non-functional. Development was co-authored with Claude Sonnet 4.6. Further details are available at https://github.com/deepanimators/detiq-browser/commits.atom.
