What was done

A project to reconstruct the source code for the GameCube game Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights, aiming for a byte-identical executable build. The repository is currently in a bootstrap phase, with ongoing work to implement and verify game components.

The mitsevox/n100f project is a decompilation effort for the Nintendo GameCube release of Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights. The objective is to produce source code that compiles into a byte-identical copy of the original main.dol executable. The project utilizes the decomp-toolkit and ninja for build management, requiring a user-provided disc image. As of the latest commits, the project is in a bootstrap phase, with various components marked as needing verification or implementation. Recent progress includes the reconstruction of Bink's dct.c, various Dolphin OS and GX units, and MetroTRK components such as msgbuf.c and mslsupp.c. Claude Opus 5.5 is documented as a co-author for these contributions, assisting with code reconstruction and unit imports. The project maintains a strict requirement for byte-identical builds, verified against a SHA-1 hash of the original executable. Limits include the current bootstrap status and the need for ongoing verification of source structure and types.

Reproduce it

setup
Extract the game disc and place the original `sys/main.dol` at `orig/GIHE78/sys/main.dol`. Build the patched `decomp-toolkit` (v1.8.3) using the provided patch, then run `python3 configure.py` followed by `ninja` to build the project.
