What was done
Lock, unlock, passcodes, fingerprints and the operation log of a Sciener and TTLock based safe, heard over Bluetooth, with the vendor app and paid gateway dropped.
This Home Assistant integration drives Populife smart safes and other Sciener and TTLock based locks directly over Bluetooth, replacing the vendor cloud gateway with the own home server. Twenty-four of its commits carry Claude Opus 5.5 as co-author.
How it was done
The internet connection came from the vendor app and a paid Wi-Fi gateway, so the integration acts as the gateway instead: it speaks the AES-encrypted TTLock BLE V3 protocol through the open ttlock-ble library, discovers safes from their Bluetooth advertisements, and reads bolt position and battery passively from the same packets. Setup can import the key from an account, paste lock data from an app proxy, or take AES and unlock keys entered by hand, and offers reauth when a safe rejects a key.
Results
A real safe was used through the whole feature list: automatic discovery, lock and unlock, passcode administration with temporary windows and masked passcodes for other users, fingerprint counts and clock drift and volume metrics, the full operation log with last-unlock sensors even for openings that happened while offline, and panel access control limited to admins. The README is honest that the list of confirmed models is short.
