clipfile is a TJS2 wrapper for the clipparse library, enabling CLIP STUDIO PAINT file integration within the KirikiriZ engine for layer access, image synthesis, and file modification.
clipfile is a plugin designed for the KirikiriZ (TJS2) engine that facilitates the reading and editing of CLIP STUDIO PAINT (.clip) files. The repository functions as a lightweight wrapper that incorporates the wamsoft/clipparse library via a submodule to handle parsing, synthesis, and export operations. The plugin enables users to access layer attributes, retrieve layer images, perform partial reads of 256x256 tiles, and execute full layer synthesis including masks and adjustment layers. Additionally, the CLIPWriter component supports file modification, such as resizing canvases and replacing layer pixels. The author reports that unmodified files maintain SHA256 consistency upon export. Development and documentation efforts have been co-authored with Claude Opus 5 and Claude Opus 5.5. The plugin requires MSVC and CMake 3.16+ for building, with artifacts generated as clipfile.dll.
Reproduce it
Clone the repository with submodules, set the VCPKG_ROOT environment variable, and run 'make PRESET=x64-windows BUILD_TYPE=Release build' to generate the DLL.
