thpSkate3 replaces the skater physics and mechanics of the N64 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (THPS) with the skatecore-cpp runtime from Skate 3, while maintaining original THPS levels, scoring, and goals.
thpSkate3 is a project that integrates the skateboarding runtime from Skate 3 into the N64 version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. The project utilizes the THPS64 decompilation and the skatecore-cpp library to replace the original skater physics, camera, and animation systems with those from Skate 3. While the skater is replaced, the project retains the original THPS levels, goals, timers, HUD, and scoring systems. The bridge between the two systems handles trick registration, sound effects, and character posing using Skate 3's skeleton. Collision geometry is extracted from the THPS ROM and processed to ensure compatibility with the new physics, including adjustments to quarter-pipe lips and surface seams. The author reports that the project is currently in a prerelease state and is described as early and glitchy. Development credits include the author and Claude Opus 5.5 as a co-author. The project requires users to provide their own game assets, as no copyrighted material is included in the repository. Source
