UltraTears is an unofficial native PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (v1.4.3) for Windows, utilizing static recompilation to translate ARM64 code to x86-64. It requires a user-provided game dump and is currently in an early, Windows-only state.
UltraTears is an unofficial native PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo Switch, version 1.4.3) for Windows. The project utilizes static recompilation to translate the game's ARM64 code into C and subsequently into x86-64, replacing the original Switch system and NVN graphics API with native implementations. The project is documented at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kuraeow/ultratears/HEAD/README.md.
The port is currently in an early state. While the title screen, prologue, and Great Sky Island are reported to play, the project notes that Steam Deck and Linux support are not yet functional, as the Windows build is incompatible with Proton's memory access methods. Other PC configurations and graphics cards remain untested. The build process requires a user-supplied, decrypted dump of the game, which is processed locally to generate the necessary assets and executable. The commit history credits Claude Opus 5.5 as a co-author for the project.
