What was done

Pawan Deshpande developed a macOS menu bar app for Klipsch ProMedia Lumina 2.1 speakers by using AI to reverse engineer the unpublished BLE protocol and automating the verification loop with webcam and microphone inputs.

Pawan Deshpande developed a macOS menu bar application to control Klipsch ProMedia Lumina 2.1 speakers, which lack official macOS software. The project involved reverse engineering the unpublished Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol. According to the author, an AI model performed the reverse engineering by analyzing BLE traffic sniffing data and mobile application binaries. The development process initially relied on the author as a human-in-the-loop to verify LED states and audio equalization. To accelerate iteration, the author integrated a webcam and microphone to provide automated feedback to the AI, allowing it to observe and verify the speaker's physical responses directly. The resulting application provides control over speaker settings and includes an ambient lighting mode that synchronizes LEDs with dominant screen colors. The project is documented at https://x.com/idlivada/status/2115466713043193928.
