Live & Recompiled is an unofficial native PC port of the original Xbox title Conker: Live & Reloaded, developed by giacomozama. The project is built upon a heavily modified version of the Xbox XBE Recomp runtime. The developer reports that all first-party code within the project is LLM-generated and was not reviewed line-by-line. The port supports Linux and Windows, offering features such as high frame rates, support for various aspect ratios, and improved graphics settings. According to the project documentation, the single-player campaign is playable from start to finish and is expected to be mostly bug-free and optimized. However, while solo bots and split-screen multiplayer are functional, they have not been thoroughly tested, and LAN or online play remains untested. The installation process requires users to provide their own game assets from a supported disc or digital release, which are then processed via a setup utility that handles the recompilation using the Zig compiler. The project maintains a GitHub repository for ongoing development and version control.
Reproduce it
Download the release for your system, unpack it, and run the setup utility (setup-windows.exe or ./setup-linux). Provide the path to your game files (DefaultPackage or extracted files), select a working folder, and press Recompile to generate the executable.
